Review of The Damned United (2009) by Clayton W — 12 Dec 2009
Michael Sheen is one of those actors who I would watch in anything. He delivers in every role he's given, and The Damned United is certainly no exception. Sheen's amazing performance is the impressive film's best feature, although it is far from the only reason to see it.
The cinematography is stunning; the framing of certain shots made me gasp; through Ben Smithard's lens, small, dodgy towns in England are magnificent. Peter Morgan's screenplay is on par with his other work--in a word, excellent.
A must-see movie; a highlight in an impressive cinematic year.
