Review of The Damned United (2009) by Varun G — 04 Jul 2010
"Now then young man, I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business, but I was in the top one".
Wether or not this film is true, or part fiction it is brilliant and Michael Sheen is again outstanding in a major role, he plays Cloughie to a tee.
Loved him or hated him it's no doubt Brian Clough was a true football character and legend, the likes we see little of these days. His 44 day's as Leeds United boss were a disaster, his hatred for Don Revie was his motvation and his downfall, as a Leeds fan at the time I hated the man, but by the end of this film I felt a little sad for "ol big head". He went on to greater things with Nott's Forest, but his time at Leeds left him with a bitter sweet legacy.
