Review of The Da Vinci Code (2006) by Glenn L — 26 Aug 2012
Tom Hanks gives a top-notch "movie star" performance in that he's utmost sincere with the material but, at the same time, subtly winks at the audience -- a kind of projected self-awareness that he - even in character - is a part of something that's meant to be fun.
Listen to his monologue at the end of the film; not the actual words but more so the tone of his voice - his performance: A whimsical philosophy on all things faith. He's speaking profoundly but having a good time as well.
And so should we.
