Review of The D Train (2015) by Vincent S — 12 May 2015
'The D Train' tries to be a dark, black comedy but it's a phony, pretend dark. Jack Black is given a broad, badly written character who grates on our nerves. James Marsdan and Kathryn Hahn steal this movie and should headline their own movies! Hahn takes a thankless role and breathes life into it.
Marsdan is wonderful but this movie takes a promising story and runs it into the ground. 'Grosse Point Blank' did a much better job with this high school reunion material.
