Review of The Curse of the Werewolf (1961) by Al M — 08 Aug 2008
Gothic, colorful Hammer Studio classic. Oliver Reed gives a head-turning performance as Leon the bastard child turned lycanthrope adult, who is struggling with his affliction. The sets and locations are very stylish and lavish, typical of a Terrance Fisher-helmed film of the late 50's-early 60's.
This is one of the better 'serious' werewolf movies out there and certainly one of the best color movies on the topic. Worth a look.
