Review of The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001) by Nicas G — 28 Jul 2008
A really clever script and typical Allen pace. The acting and casting here is a bit off - there are numerous clumsy scenes that just don't work. Allen rushes his lines as always and mumbles frequently.
Helen Hunt a bit too staid/stiff at times but still radiates. Akroyd also a bit out of place. Charlize sizzles but come on - who believed she was going to sack the mealy investigator? It needed a bit more intrigue and true suspense.
