Review of The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001) by Vero S — 08 Mar 2009
Beautiful and witty film. The score, the amazing plot, the witty dialogues, the terrible yet hilarious situation, it's all so Woody Allen like, I loved it. Even though this isn't the classic neurotic character Woody always portrays, he still has that insecure and paranoid thing going on, which I love and find hilarious.
His romantic comedies are unlike any others, they are so unique. Unlike most movies like these, Allen's feel real. Even in the most unusual situations, the characters' dialogues are very believable, and yet leave a sweet, movie-like taste.
The reading Woody makes of relationships and just human behaviour is absolutely brilliant. I've seen my good share of Woody Allen movies, and not one of them has disappointed me.
