Review of The Curse of the Cat People (1944) by Alex B — 31 Oct 2007
A beautiful, touching film about (female) loneliness and friendship. A fine companion not only to Cat People (and proof that sequels need not be derivative or unimaginative), but also to Pan's Labyrinth (which is almost a remake, surely a re-imagining/re-fashioning, of it--as Hitchcock's Marnie might be said to be a remake of Cat People).
And much much better than The Night of the Hunter.
