First of the Hammer Frankenstein series is still one of the best. Peter Cushing revels in the role of the mad doctor, while Christopher Lee as the monster turns what could have been a thankless role into a stalwart performance.
Tame by today's standards, this is still one of the best adaptations of Shelley's work.
