Review of The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) by Jeff A — 28 Jun 2011
Early Hammer release that put their studio on the map and still stands as arguably the best of them all. Everything that made Hammer films so enjoyable is on display here: The Cushing/Lee acting combo, the lush color photography, expert direction (Terence Fisher, the best of the Hammer directors) and the great period sets/costumes.
Dialogue scenes run a bit long here and there but overall an excellent adaptation of Shelley's story.
