Review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) by Hollyc — 29 May 2009
Held my attention the first third, then began to fall into tepid interest. I could tell it wanted me to care about these great moments, but I just didn't. Also came the epiphany of seeing this before, when it was called "Forrest Gump" --- This really affected the rest of the movie for me as I was constantly comparing everything that was happening in Button to Gump (Roth is shameless, for sure).
However, the direction, cinematography, VFX and Tilda Swinton were all terrific.
