Some had said that the film was very similar to FORREST GUMP, but upon seeing it I was shocked at truly how similar it felt in structure and with many characters. Theres Momma, Lt. Dan, Bubba, Jenny and even Lil Forrest.
WTF?? Did Fincher miss this, especially considering that the writer was responsible for both scripts? Beyond that I can say a few good things.. Amazing (but not yet seemless) FX, beautiful score and great acting.
On a technical level the film is flawless..but when reaching deeper it felt like a manipulation, like "and cue tears from audience". While I appreciate the sentiment in the film and a great performance from Pitt, I am rather lost as to my overall feelings on this, but I definately feel a sense of dissapointment.
