A wonderful, realistically presented fantasy that showcases the immense talent of all involved. Pitt and Blanchett are mesmerizing, and deliver some of their finest work, but the supporting cast often steal the spotlight.
The gorgeous digital cinematography you expect from a Fincher movie is also better that ever here. The movie could easily have been shorter, but I trust the directors judgement that this is the best presented version of the story.
Had the direction here not been outstanding, I would have thought differently.
