Review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) by Jaime R — 11 Dec 2014
Very interesting movie, mostly in terms of the story. It's sometime I would have never thought of, but interesting enough is kinda neat. The begining of the longish movie is the most so, with the 'child' growing up looking like he is 80 and wanting to be out playing with the other kids.
The movie isn't exactly fast paced, in fact it's kinda slow going, but the topic itself is interesting. He grows up to be middle aged, and then begins the love story. I was wishing that the movie didn't go in depth as it did in the romance, but it does make sense since we know how it won't last as long as it usually should.
It was nice however in my point of view and interest to add the brief Second World War scene. A tug boat vs a U-Boat, in a movie that is not at all about war is interesting, but ultimately turns out very well done for the only action scene in the film.
It looks good, sounds very good and although the ending with the sub exploding is unrealistic it is needed to have to death of the sailors for the films sake. The ending of the film is sad, and weird thinking about the once grown man shrinking into a tiny newborn baby, until he take his last breath.
It's a good movie, surprisingly well done considering the story, but mabey a tad long and slow.
