Review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) by Adam P — 10 Apr 2013
Curious Case is a lighter turn for David Fincher compared to the likes of Fight Club and Seven. This is an epic romance than spans over generations. A superb cast play an array of incredibly human characters. The effects in this film are amazing; they are also a side note and it's all the better for it. You quickly ignore any de-aging or aging techniques used in the film as they blend so deeply into the character and there aren't any lingering 'look how cool this effect is' shots. The film is just under three hours but don't let that put you off or you'll miss something really special.
Melancholic, chaotic, romantic, fantastic.
