Review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) by Em W — 26 Oct 2015
Definitely a chick flick. A very LONG chick flick. I think it lasted something like 2:40. And as a indication of how riveting it was, many times I asked myself "isn't this over yet?". Brad Pitt does a great job.
It's an interesting film. But the biggest problem is that it doesn't really have much to say. I suppose the film's journey is kind of interesting, and the premise is original (a guy born old who ages backwards), and I suppose there's an unsatisfactory love story in there when he falls for an arrogant, self-centered woman for some reason.
But otherwise it's just kinda blah. And you spend too much time noticing how they managed to make Pitt look old, young and in-between. Anyway, it's clearly a chick flick, for women who don't mind a long drawn out story.
If that isn't you, you'll probably get bored.
