Review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) by Sandra V — 04 May 2014
This beautiful and elegiac film is heartbreaking, romantic, funny, nerve wracking and thoughtful and feels like the type of old-school Hollywood epic they don't make anymore. It chronicles the life of a simple soul looking for meaning without offering any trite or easy answers about life's many questions.
Brad Pitt has never been better and Cate Blanchett proves yet again what a brilliant actress she is, one capable of playing almost any part to perfection. The smaller roles are gems of characterisation and actors such as Tilda Swinton and Taraji P.
Henson shine.
