Review of The Crying Game (1992) by Lilian W — 02 Oct 2010
Action, thriller, suspense, mystery, romance, and drama, all in all genres are all here in this exciting and yet very well done movie. I liked it in many ways but first let me explain something about what this film is about. The first 1/3's of the film shows us these 2 people on a carnival and then this guy named Fergus attacked that guy and kidnapped him, well Fergus claimed to this soldier that he was an IRA (figure it out on your own what it means or just watch the film and you will know it too). Both had a relationship like friends until one day this soldier tries to run away and eventually he was accidentally hit by a tank. Then Fergus went to the town to find the wife of that soldier and he found her and the two fell in love, more romance, more drama. Towards the end, a mysterious woman shows up, which is the woman in the carnival with the soldier, well I'm not going to tell it anymore what happen to all of these people because that would ruined everything. Well, to say I've tell you the 75% of the film and the rest is still a surprise if you haven't seen this one.
Overall, â??The Crying Gameâ?? is a movie that starts very slow and goes faster in which you won't realize that something is really going on. This is what I called an entertaining movie because you have 3 or 4 stories going on here and at the same time you got multiple genres which is I've said at the start of the review. Though it is really entertaining, the dialogues here are still important, not you would think like pointless conversations but they're something that can get through the characters moment until the very end. I also think this is an original work, I've never heard or watched and kind of movie a story like this movie, and because of that it really deserves a powerful perfect 5 stars.
