Review of The Crying Game (1992) by Matt M — 23 Jan 2013
Intelligent thriller about an IRA man escaping to London to track down a girl and fulfil a promise to the man he kidnapped and killed with whom he became friends. Complications arise after he falls in love with her and the IRA finds him.
Jordan is not afraid to be daring and even controversial in the film's famously shocking plot development. The screenplay is brilliant, mixing a thriller involving terrorism with the setting of underground London, and with plenty of imagery that showcases the quality of vision of the filmmaker.
