Made a decade ago but oh so relevant to today. Who knew Puritans had such sexual tension between them? Daniel Day Lewis is John Proctor, a good man to the village but sinner in his heart who tries to do good by Joan Allen as Elizabeth Proctor loving forgiving wife of John who both combat the hysteria of the Salem Witch Trials brought on by Winona Ryder who plays Abigail Williams, the pathological liar who seeks a whore's vengence and brings the whole town with her.
