Review of The Crucible (1996) by Svein S — 18 May 2008
An excellent play and one that truly infuriates me. It pisses me off watching the accusing girls and the whole witch trials. How stupid were these people back in the day? The movie doesn't ease my hatred by casting Winona Ryder (who's possibly the worst actress ever).
However, the movie's saving grace is the sexy Daniel Day-Lewis as John Proctor. Any film that features D.D.L. screaming is worth watching lol. Very powerful ending with the reciting of the Lord's prayer right as Proctor is hanged.
