Review of The Crow: City of Angels (1996) by Paul F — 11 Jul 2007
I was expecting so much more from this movie, and, truth to tell, I wasn't disappointed...with the music score, that is. Graeme Revell worked his usual maestro's touch, providing haunting and mesmerizing music.
As for the actual film, though, it tried too hard to repeat the success of the first movie, and fell quite short. It does have its moments, however, especially the look on Iggy Pop's face when he realizes he's not dealing with an ordinary human being.
It's not a bad film. It just tries too hard to be like the first. And no one, absolutely no one, can ever match Brandon Lee's immortal performance of the first film.
