Review of The Crow: City of Angels (1996) by Alex F — 19 Jul 2008
The origional is still a classic today not only because of brandon lees tragic death but because of its use of romance and tragic love to make the viewer feel for the protagonist and to make the violence justifiable.
for the sequal they appear to have overlooked all of the factors that made the origional a hit creating romantic interest where there should be none and the tragedy of his death is overpowered by the mindless violence which follows dont get me wrong the film is by no means terrible but it would be a whole lot better if the kid wasnt so annoying and they hadnt removed most of what made the origional relevant worth watching perez is good as is iggy pop but the rest kind of blurs and without the poignant end of the origional you are left at the end with an intence feeling of either bewilderment or a lack of caring if he got the girl and the kid in death or not.
