Review of The Crow: City of Angels (1996) by Jeff D — 09 Mar 2010
An emo mechanic is brought back to life by a bird to exact revenge on a gang of transvestite drug addicts who killed him and his annoying son.
Like most sequels, The Crow: City of Angels is a cheap attempt at cashing in on the success of its predecessor and it sucks. Vincent Perez is a talented actor, but he doesn't have an inch of Brandon Lee's charisma and presence in this film. He tries very hard to look like a bad ass spirit of vengeance, but he comes across as a whiny little bitch who likes to share fun random facts with his victims before killing them. Some of his deliveries are unintentionally hilarious (e.g "Pain eeez my poewer!), which makes the movie slightly more enjoyable.
I would only recommend this movie if you're an Iggy Pop fan or want to see Thomas Jane in drag.
