Review of The Crow (1994) by Jacob G — 20 Feb 2012
I had no idea when I watched this that Brandon Lee was killed during the filming of this. Not that that really changes what The Crow is... but it certainly lends a somber edge to my recollection of it.
Had I seen this in 1994 I probably would have been all about it's edgy, grim tone. It has since been topped at its own game and no longer feels as relevant as it probably did upon release. I'm guessing The Matrix got a lot of inspiration from the running-on-roof scenes, and Sin City definitely upped the game in terms of dark "comic book" adaptations.
