Review of The Crimson Rivers (2000) by Jim M — 17 Feb 2009
In the French Alps lies Guernon and it's University, a virtual world to itself. It is one of the most prestigious University's in France and it hides a dark secret spanning generations. A secret that has brought a killers wrath down on the quiet valley. Police Commissioner Niemans is summoned from Paris to solve the case of a murdered professor and joins forces with Lt. Kerkerian a cop from a neighboring town investigating the desecration of a young girls grave. To stop the killer the two must discover Guernon's secret.
Great police thriller in the vein of Seven/Silence of the Lambs with a French twist. Jean Reno and Vincent Cassel are excellent as the cops on the killers trail. Nothing too original here, but it does what it does very well.
