Review of The Crimson Pirate (1952) by Steve H — 07 Oct 2010
Crazy pirate film. The "crimson pirate" and Vallo are a good double act and there were a couple of very comedic scenes, such as near the beginning when they were running and hidding in the streets 'Aladdin' style. A character who seems dumb and can't talk is used in a lot of American film double acts now - such as Jay and silent Bob, in 'Dogma' It works well for it's purpose in this film.
The woman's character is a bit annoying...The Pirates are badass and there is some kickass fighting. The plot's a bit silly and at times it drags out but it's a fun film.
