Review of The Crime of Padre Amaro (2002) by Ryan M — 04 Jul 2007
I guess it is kind of straightforward, in plot terms. Obviously, Catholics are mad about it, but what the hell? If we avoided everything that makes Catholics mad, my God. The internet would be out of business, to begin with.
Gael Garcia Bernal is excellent, but I was kind of predisposed to think that. As I say. Ultimately, kind of a typical forbidden love story, with all the requisite sexiness. And some sad stuff.
