Review of The Craft (1996) by David C — 04 Nov 2008
I stayed away from this one for a while. It stirred up quite a bit of taboo in my church when it was released. I feel like I'm spiritually sound enough now to view it and make my own decision. I apologize being politically incorrect, but I understand that the wiccan faith is based on the belief that my God is false.
Knowing that 80% of this movie is in support of this particular religion that taunts my faith, I felt a much more "I shouldn't be watching this" (Clockwork Orange) vibe than a "harmless fantasy fun" (Harry Potter) vibe.
Granted, the movie took a very Hollywood turn in the final quarter and Fairuza Balk looked like a hot version of the Joker, but this movie just wasn't for me.
