Review of The Court Jester (1955) by Lucas Q — 09 May 2008
What do you get when you mix Robin Hood with the Musical Comedy genre? Well this of course. I would say this is far more of a comedy that anything else and it succeeds brilliantly on that count. It includes that glorious and long suffering villain actor, Basil Rathbone who can?t even be allowed to defeat funny man Danny Kaye.
The most memorable scenes involve that poison and the vessel with pessel. Try to keep up if you can on that one, it is extremely hard to repeat that yourself so it is no wonder it is so hilarious to see Kaye stumble around with it.
What fun!
