Review of The Country Bears (2002) by Chase S — 09 Mar 2009
Personally, I think everybody is overlooking the obvious and ignoring the best that this movie has to offer. Yes, the plot is a little simplistic and the acting is not exactly up to par. Not unlike the Blues Brothers, however, this movie is truly about the music.
John Hiatt's incredible vocals really lend to the atmosphere of this film. Include other noted musicians like Krystal, Jennifer Paige, and a fantastic duet from Don Henley and Bonnie Raitt and you have a solid music movie with a great tempo and a solid soundtrack.
Granted, not Disney's best film, but it deserves more respect than it's been getting.
