Review of The Countess (2009) by Mandy C — 09 Jul 2010
An interesting true story based on the famous "Countess of Blood", Elizabeth Bathony. To begin with, the movie isn't as horror, dark or scary as it may seems.
Staying true to the history, location and of course costumes and environment, the story basically tells story of how fatal it is to be falling madly in love could be and of course how others that will use this to their advantage to eliminate the powerful.
A very good narrative and cinematic movie with beautiful costume, settings and decoration. Movie might be a little boring to some but the details in the narration are superb.
A movie well made to potray how far someone will really go to retain beauty and for love. While how far some will use any connection and relationship to their advantage for power. A really dark tale at the darkest times.
