Although 'The Count of Monte Cristo' on film is VERY different from the novel, this movie actually maintains the spirit of the book in its adaptation, while coming up with an adventurous ending.
Caviezel fits the role perfectly, and Richard Harris (in one of his last appearances) steals the show.
