Review of The Counselor (2013) by James D — 12 Feb 2014
A disappointment to say the least, especially with Ridley Scott behind the helm, and a stellar cast. The acting is superb, which is expected when you throw names like Fassbender, Cruz, Diaz, Bardem, and Pitt out there, but a lackluster plot that gets confusing over shadows the talent.
It's beautifully shot no donut, and the costume design is great. But, it just wasn't enough to fill my hunger for a great Scott film. Maybe next time Ridley. 3/5 JD.
