Review of The Counselor (2013) by Alvin Y — 15 Feb 2014

This is probably one of Ridley Scott's good and/or bad film that he's ever done. The story is pretty simple and yet it takes a LOT of time to bring it to justice. The casting is nothing you've ever expected because some of them are a total miscast and as usual you know somewhere in the film they're either gonna die or just forgotten afterwards.

The plot about an illegal business goes wrong seems to be pretty intense but then why not kill The Counselor instead of his love ones ha? I also didn't like the way some characters talk some things about nothing that doesn't even make the film concerned for.

And that's pretty much what I say about the film, it's a total mess, no John Grisham style storytelling here, but don't get me wrong, the movie delivers sometimes very surprising twists and turns on it.
