There is a sort of pornography to this movie, but not the kind that excites you. The kind that leaves you sick to your stomach. You never really get to know the characters. The movie is filled with childish "provocative" cliches which is all static foreshadowing to a story with no dynamic elements or characters.
It's cruel but it's not a noir. It's not misunderstood. It's just empty.
