Review of The Corpse Grinders (1971) by Tristan P — 16 Jul 2008
It's more than a little depressing for me to have just given THE CORPSE GRINDERS a one star rating and then realize that this is easily Ted V. Mikels best film... Poor guy. Looks like he may tie with Todd Sheets as the worst director who's work I am aware of (both make Ed Wood look like Orson friggin' Welles...).
The thing is, THE CORPSE GRINDERS has kind of a fun idea and in the hands of a better director, even a Herschell Gordon Lewis or a Frank Henenlotter, it might have been a cult classic. Too bad.
Followed 30-odd years later by a sequel which is probably even worse. The thing is, I can't say for sure because I could only stand watching it for about 20 minutes...
