Review of The Corporation (2003) by James G — 30 Jan 2009
An undoubtably left-leaning, one-sided but eye-opening essay on the history, make up and current role of the corporation in our everyday lives.
Bombarded by logos, statistics and despicable-deed stories of well known companies that touch some part of all our lives, I've never felt so claustrophobic, insignificant or angry watching a documentary.
Even Thatcher's flagpole policy in the 80s comes under fire from noted academic and left-wing activist Noam Chomsky, "Privatisation does not mean you take a public institution and give it to some nice person. It means you take a public institution and give it to an unaccountable tyranny." - a sentiment that is driven home throughout this extremely interesting and well presented movie.
