Review of The Core (2003) by Jonny 9 — 01 Jan 2013
More terrible than anything I have seen in quite a while. The story is so s%@# it's not even funny. It looks like a child wrote the script with a crayon: "World go boom boom. Super team dig in and saving thems! YAYYYY!" Retarded, stupid, half-witted. The all-star cast look ridiculous trying to pull this off. Big career no-no.
Now for my real complaint... Since I studied physics at university, I am appalled at the complete lack of any scientific merit. All other disaster movies are at least based on some remote science. As a scientist this is unwatchable. List of science faux pas:
- The core is clear liquid with floating things in it...ummm no.
- The earth's core, which is a floating ball of sorts, just up and stops.
- They restart it using a couple nukes... hahahahahaha! no.
- Heat coming up from the core because it stops (insane on its own merits), is hot enough to melt tires, a bridge, and explode cars, but doesn't burn the people in the cars...hmmm...
- They enter the core of the earth not using a sphere or drill shaped vehicle, no a train like vehicle is chosen... WHAT?!?!?
This movie will make you dumb, do not watch it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
