Review of The Core (2003) by Bill R — 15 Apr 2009
I had forgotten how insultingly bad this movie was until I saw it again. A terrible script filled with science jargon that doesn't make any sense, so when moments of suspense happen we have to take too many leaps of faith to believe it.
It's fine for a movie to go places undreamed of, but here they ask the audience to suspend every piece of belief we have. What does work is the awesome cast, which includes Aaron Eckhart, Hillary Swank, Stanley Tucci, Richard Jenkins, and that guy that plays Aaron Pierce on 24.
