Somewhat underrated because it doesn't take itself too seriously like almost every single film of it's kind does. Plus, it's science is more believable than Armageddon's, so at least that''s a step-up.
Another good thing that keeps the film on-track are strong performances from everyone aboard the trip down to the earth's core. Cheesy, yes it is. Bad, not necessarily.
