Review of The Cooler (2003) by Ags C — 13 May 2008
£2 in Woolworths was too good to refuse...and indeed a hell of a bargain. William H. Macy is superb as a loser in life whose fortunes change. Maria Bello is brilliantly cast as his love interest and the underrated Alec Baldwin is the bad guy.
Or is he? This film is not clear cut or easy to grasp at first, but it is very entertaining. The ending is bizarre, but somehow fits with the enigmatic characters. Somewhat of a cult classic in the 'Memento' bracket.
