Review of The Cooler (2003) by Juho K — 09 Jan 2009
The performances of Baldwin, Bello and Macy more than make up for the wonky, almost Disney-esque luck transitions. And the love and love scenes of Bello and Macy's characters are among the most authentic I've seen on screen.
Even the Oscar-nominated Baldwin, at his most despicable, is fascinating; the pain and loneliness in his eyes after he commits one of the movie's most heinous acts are as powerful as his "Glengarry Glen Ross" monologue.
