Review of The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989) by Edith N — 02 Jun 2011
I'm a little embarrassed i'd never seen this before. this is pure cinema. every moment of this film, from the lighting, cinematography, costumes, sets, music, performances, etc., is over the top and lavishly beautiful.
to me it barely even feels like boundaries are being broken because boundaries don't seem to exist in peter greenaway's world. mind=blown.
