Review of The Conversations (2016) by Chris J A — 13 Oct 2017
How refreshing! I came across this on Amazon Prime, checked out the trailer and was instantly grabbed by its quirky approach. It's a great example of British Independent film at its best. Haider Zafar is a potential rising star - great acting, producer and co-direction - quite an art to do so well on all fronts.
Great screenplay by Marcus Flemmings. Honestly, if this had a big Hollywood budget could they have done it better? No. This represents the new 'authentic cinema', a far cry from the mass-produced pulp that comes out of Hollywood.
Cinema that is more like a good book than Hollywood, which is more like a computer game. Cinema that really entertains in an intelligent way. I sense this film will mark the start of a great career.
