Review of The Conversation (1974) by Alex B — 30 Jul 2011
A fine account, both classical and baroque, of sleazy, creepy, corrupt 1970's American business/corporate/capitalist culture. Just as I was tiring of the banality of an extramarital affair, came the unexpected twist.
And I also like the unconventional ending. The bottom line: it's much less about marriage, family, personal life/relations, or morality (or religion) than money power, political economy (and I don't just mean this film).
