Review of The Conversation (1974) by Daphne M — 19 Apr 2010
The in between film for Francis Ford Coppola while he was working on the Godfathers. It isn't a bad film but I found it hard to find myself enjoying it. I found Hackman's character and the film's plot only so-so.
The surviellance subject matter kept me a little interested but i'll openly admit a lot went over my head in this film. The pacing was so slow it took 1h hour 10 mins before the plot advanced at all. I guess the plot was only a vehicle, just couldn't get into it.
A few good scenes here and there, but no classic to me....
