Review of The Conversation (1974) by Tom S — 23 Aug 2012
"I'm just doing my job" The great phrase spoken by people caught in the act of doing something that falls in the gray area. Hackman's character fits the bill. He's a private eye that gets paid to spy on people.
He doesn't care what they're saying, he just records it and gets paid. Or so he thinks. When he discovers that his latest job could get someone killed (including himself) he can't help but get involved.
A good film that for the story alone would get a higher rating, but the long scenes used to build character were unnecessary. Still, a gem that I'm sure many have not seen.
