Review of The Conversation (1974) by Matan S — 07 Jul 2013
Another largely forgotten 70's great starring Gene Hackman with a young Harrison Ford in a minor supporting role. Taut psychological thriller that is a bit slow-paced for today, but somewhat amusing to watch in light of the Edward Snowden PRISM surveillance scandal.
Was nominated for Best Picture but lost to Godfather II, which was ALSO directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Never heard of two films by the same director being nominated for best picture in the SAME YEAR, never mind a director even making two films in the same year.
