Review of The Conversation (1974) by Carlos I — 17 Jan 2014
As sad as it is cynical, Francis Ford Coppola's paranoia masterpiece is somewhat eerily prescient, arriving shortly before the watergate scandal, when surveillance and dishonesty rose to the fore of public consciousness.
It's a perfectly constructed thriller with a remarkably reserved performance from Gene Hackman.
